Studies on the various factors had influence on the activity of anti-phage serum

Abstract
|
|
|
The author has studied on the effects of temperature on the activity of anti-Klebsiella phage serum and obtained the following results:
The serum action was almost similar at -5°C~l0°C. At 30°C, 37°C, 45°C and 50°C, the serum action has increased 3 times, 9 times, 15 times, and 24 times more respectively than that at 0°C.
By heating at 64°C and 66°C~74°C for 30 minutes, about 27% and 32%~40% of the serum activity were destroyed respectively.
The Klebsiella phage suspended in broth was stable even though it is kept at 45°C or 50°C for 30 minutes.
By keeping at 37°C for 3 hours, the activity of heated serum was remarkably destroyed while the action of normal serum was almost not changed.
